Hello ,
July is an exciting month with Riaan Manser completing his kayak journey around Madagascar, Air Madagascar extending their low season and Jenman Safaris launching some scheduled dates for our fishing camp... Giving you more reasons to visit this magnificent red island!!!
To support travellers wishing to visit Madagascar this year, Air Madagascar has extended their low season to the end of August, giving you an extra 1.5 months in which to travel at low season rates! Previously the high season rates began on 10th July, but are now only effective from 1st September. When you couple this with the FREE VISA on arrival to Madagascar, this spectacular destination has never seen better value!

or have a look at our website. Turtle Bay Camp Fishing package - now with scheduled dates! We know some of you would love to visit our remote fishing camp on the island of Kalakajoro, but to grab a group of 4 or 8 like-minded people, all wanting to travel at the same time, can sometimes be a challenge. That's why we have added a monthly scheduled trip onto our Turtle Bay Camp calendar.
If you are just 1 or 2 people but would like to travel in a group of more fishing enthusiasts to keep the cost of the trip down, you can now join us on one of the below dates in 2009 from just ZAR 14,790 * per person, including return flights ex JNB.
The scheduled dates run with a minimum of 4 people, and a maximum of 10 people. A small single supplement applies, if you would like your own single room. Come and explore the abundant waters of Kalakajoro with us at Turtle Bay Camp! ___________________________________________________________________ Riaan Manser has completed Kayaking around Madagascar! Well done!
On the afternoon of the 8th of July Riaan Manser completed his adventure. It took him 11 months to kayak the 5000 km around Madagascar. Riaan spent the last 11 months sitting on a custom built kayak for about 8 hours a day... some days with the hot sun beating down on him and other days with strong winds and frightening storms. Riaan had some bad days (surf dumping, cyclone encounters...etc) but he also had some remarkable days and encountered the best that Madagascar has to offer! Here are two clips from his official press release: "But for all the hardships Manser has endured he has also witnessed the best Madagascar has to offer, most notably among its marine life. Humpback whales with newborn calves have breached 20m from his kayak; a pod of 200 dolphins has danced ahead of his bow; giant Leatherback turtles examined his boat in person and a shark even rammed the boat, giving Manser whiplash." "Over the next several months Manser will return to South Africa to write his second book 'Around Madagascar on my kayak', as well as present his story to the world. According to legendary adventure kayaker, Johan Loots, Manser's Madagascar expedition should be counted as one of the great feats of human endurance and 'should go down in the annals of adventure as one of the greatest of all time... the achievement is, quite frankly, nothing short of sensational." Congratulations Riaan - what an amazing accomplishment! We simply cannot wait for the book release...
