The camp operates a 28’ Cape Craft ski boat, with 2x 225hp outboards, all of which are well maintained and fully equipped for game fishing. The skipper and one-man crew are extremely adept at their jobs and are very knowledgeable in terms of fish species, their whereabouts and their proximity to the camp - thus avoiding unnecessary travel time in hunting for fish. The game tackle provided on the boats is of good quality and is in good condition. The camp mainly specialises in trolling and conventional big-game fishing. Fly or spinning tackle should be taken along by visitors, if required.

Water temperatures in the vicinity of Turtle Bay usually vary between 24°C and 28°C, and the visibility usually exceeds 20m. The reefs are of sandstone and large corals. Keen snorkellers will be impressed at the abundance of turtles, large fish and even whale sharks that they will see, and spear fishermen will need to be very selective to be rewarded by a prize catch. Divers are very welcome as they ensure a regular supply of fish and crayfish on the table. No diving or spear fishing equipment is supplied.
For those visitors not interested in the other activities and excursions offered, walking is the best way to explore the natural beauty of this area. Turtle Bay Camp is situated in very picturesque surroundings and walks around the island at low tide are possible. You will find uninhabited beaches and panoramic views which are breathtaking. You may also come across one of the small villages, or catch a glimpse of the wildlife that inhabits Kalakajor Island.

At Turtle Bay Camp you can take one of the kayaks and paddle around the island, which is about 8km in perimeter. The Kayaks can also aid in getting to fishing spots around the island or some of the reefs just off the island. There are also 3 other islands making up the Radama Islands, which can be reached by paddle on extended kayaking trips for the more experienced kayakers.
