Day 1
Fort Dauphin. You meet your driver and by 4x4 you drive to Berenty. The Berenty Reserve was created half a century ago by the d'Heaulme family as a private park; in the last twenty years it has been turned into a nature reserve cum hotel. It is the easiest way to see Lemur catta and Propithecus verreauxi in the wild. Bordering the Mandrare river it is a small patch (100 hectares) of gallery and riverine forest in the middle of what used to be spiny forest and is now mostly sisal fields. The reserve is home to 5 species of lemurs , a flying fox (a large fruit bat) and 96 bird species.
After you have unpacked and rested in the bungalow style lodge you will go on a guided night walk. This is a really unique way of exploring the many nocturnal wonders of the forest. [BD]

Day 2
Fort Dauphin. This is quiet reserve hidden in the jungle. A guide will take you on a walk around the zoo explaining everything you see there including many species of beautiful mammals and moths. There are also giant birds, pill bugs, crocodiles, geckos, frogs and several types of chameleons.
You can watch and learn how many of the species are breed and grow up at the reserve and can even touch some of them too.
Afterwards we drive to Fort Dauphin. Fort Dauphin (Taolagnaro) is a town on the southern coast of Madagascar.
With its beaches (complete with rusting shipwrecks), beautiful bays, and atmosphere of steady decay Fort Dauphin is a charming town. [BD]

Day 3
Fort Dauphin - Antananarivo. Transfer to Fort Dauphin airport for flight to Tana. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. [B]

Day 4
Antananarivo - Return Flight. Morning airport transfer in time for your flight home. [B]
