Jenman Safaris, a specialist Tour Operator is currently recruiting for a highly motivated Operations Assistant to join their Operations Team. 
The operations department is the busy support team dealing with all guide, vehicle and operational issues before, during and after a tour; from recruiting and briefing guides, to applying for vehicle permits and guide visa’s to finding spare vehicle parts in small African towns. We are also operating camps in remote areas and need to provide logistical support to these camps.

Working in a close team, we are looking for someone who can multi-task, remain calm in an often stressful environment and still pay attention to detail. The applicant needs to be hard working, quick and efficient and not be a clock-watcher. There will be times the role requires you to be on “emergency telephone call” after hours.

Any interested applicants MUST have the following:
•             a minimum of 2 – 3 years work experience in an administrative role
•             the ability to work well under pressure
•             exceptional admin and organizational skills
•             excellent computer skills on Excel and Word (non negotiable)
•             excellent English written and spoken skills

A good knowledge of Southern Africa and experience with 4x4 vehicles and overland travel is advantageous, but not essential.

Our   ♥ Travel Training Programme is held twice a year and is a great opportunity for recently graduated students to gain practical experience. Jenman African Safaris is one of the leading safari travel operators in Southern and East Africa, offering scheduled or tailor-made travel to; South Africa, Madagascar, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Swaziland, Tanzania and other fantastic holiday destinations in Africa.

We are looking for top students who have a keen interest in Travel and Tourism to join us for three months at our Head Office in Claremont, Cape Town. Applicants should ideally have studied Travel & Tourism at school and or at College/Technikon/University. The first training program will start 1 May 2011 to 30 July 2011. During the training, students will receive training on Jenman Safaris systems and procedures, learn about points of interests and geography of various African countries, site inspections, 3-4 day educational trip within SA and will go on an Educational on one of our scheduled tours.
Every person taking part in this training programme will receive a monthly salary. On completion of the training programme all trainees will receive a Certificate of Completion and those who excel, will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position with the company as a junior assistant consultant.
